Zak O’Sullivan makes the move up to Formula 2 for 2024

The British driver will join the ART Grand Prix team next season

ART Grand Prix have confirmed that Williams Academy driver Zak O’Sullivan will join the team for the 2024 campaign after making the move up from Formula 3.

O’Sullivan continues to climb through the ranks in motorsport after it was announced that he will race for ART Grand Prix team in 2024.

The 18-year-old would feature in the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2019, where he would finish runner up. He then made the move to British F4 a year later in 2020, achieving second place once again.

O’Sullivan would go on to win the GB3 Championship in 2021 after winning a total of 7 races and picking up 14 podiums along the way.

In 2022, he was promoted to F3 with Rodin Carlin. Despite finishing his rookie season in 11th place, O’Sullivan made the switch to PREMA Racing in 2023 and would go on to finish second in the championship after taking home four victories.

Speaking to, O’Sullivan is delighted to be entering F2 as rookie in 2024, as he looks forward to working with the current leaders of the Constructors’ Championship in ART Grand Prix.

“I’m excited to be joining ART for my rookie F2 season. I’m really looking forward to getting started.”

ART Grand Prix Team Principal Sébastien Philippe is also excited to have O’Sullivan with the French outfit for 2024 after a successful campaign in F3.

O’Sullivan to take part in FP1 in Abu Dhabi

O’Sullivan will get the opportunity to get behind the wheel of an F1 car after it was announced today that the Williams Academy driver will replace Alex Albon in the FW45 in the first practice session at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He will also participate in the post season rookie test, as he continues to make a name for himself in the sport.

Speaking to, O’Sullivan is looking forward to driving an F1 car for the first time, as well as showcasing his skills in FP1 and the Young Driver’s Test, as he thanked the team for the opportunity.

“I’m really excited to participate in FP1 at Abu Dhabi. I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the FW45 for the first time and get some good mileage under my belt.”

“In addition to that, I’m returning to the car for the post-season rookie test to further my development with the team.”
