The UK-based broadcasting company, which has exclusive rights to broadcast the Formula One World Championship in the United Kingdom and Ireland until 2029, confirmed their presenter lineup for the upcoming 2024 campaign.

Sky confirmed to PlanetF1 that their roster for F1 coverage would remain unchanged, apart from a new name that is yet to be announced. We can expect David Croft and Martin Brundle as the lead commentators, as well as a rotation of current and former players in the sport including Bernie Collins, Jenson Button and Nico Rosberg.

Patrick herself will feature in seven of the 24 races scheduled for the 2024 season, with the first race set to get underway on March 2nd at the Bahrain International Circuit.

The controversy surrounding Patrick

Some may be surprised by Patrick’s inclusion in Sky Sports F1’s presenting team for the upcoming season, especially after facing backlash from the community on multiple occasions during the previous campaign.

She first stirred the pot during the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, claiming live on television that women are not built to compete at the highest level in F1. She said: “I think that the nature of the sport is masculine. It’s aggressive.”

“You have to, you know, handle the car. Not only just the car because that’s skill, but the mindset that it takes to be really good is something that’s not normal in a feminine mind, a female mind.”

The former racer later doubled down on her beliefs, stating on the Sky Sports F1 podcast that all-female racing series like F1 Academy are “not important” to her, and that they hold women back from reaching the upper echelons of motorsport.

Furthermore, Patrick angered fans over the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend when she suggested that those who missed out on significant on-track action following the curtailment of the first practice session should have purchased full weekend tickets to avoid disappointment.

  1. Oh please no. Danica is bad enough but Bernie should have gone ages ago. Difficult to understand and a monotonous voice. Johnny Herbert was much more pleasant to listen to.

  2. It’s a tough to take lineup and sadly the one provided when I watch; Croft, Kravitz, and Patrick would not be missed if I never heard them again. Kravitz and Croft are just brutal to listen to and the inclusion of Patrick is perplexing at best.
