Sargeant unveils physical revitalisation in anticipation of second F1 season

Logan Sargeant, gearing up for his second F1 season, discloses a revamped physique, affirming, "I feel like a different man"

After a tough 2023 debut with Williams, Logan Sargeant has focused more on his training, gaining five kilograms for the upcoming season.

Logan Sargeant had a tough rookie season at Williams in 2023. He confronted a multitude of challenges and setbacks as he finished the year in P21 with only one point. His teammate, Alex Albon, finished in P13 with 26 more points.

With a recent contract extension, Sargeant is more determine to prove his worth in the upcoming season. The Florida-born driver has been focusing on his training during the off-season. deliberately adding five kilograms in weight in preparation.

Logan Sargeant’s Transformative Off-Season

Reflecting on the past season, Sargeant acknowledged the need for better self-management, recognizing the impact of physical and mental well-being on his performance. Emphasising attention to detail when questioned by media, he commented:

“I think it’s all in the details.

“I learned a lot throughout the season. I learned that I need to manage myself much better. I let myself get very drained throughout the season and I let that affect me off the track, which ultimately brings it onto the track.

“I wasn’t physically in the place I need to be and I’ve done everything I can to get on top of that.”

During the off-season, he prioritised self-improvement, gaining five kilograms for enhanced physical readiness for the upcoming season. Speaking on his weight gain Sargeant said:

“For example, I’m five kilos heavier than I was at the end of last year and I feel much more healthy and much more ready to go.

“And from a driving point of view, just having that reference, every single track that I go to what Formula 1 cars capable of I can now really start on a much better foot going into these weekends.

“I know much more of what I can do behind the scenes to extract performance.”

Sargeant has further elaborated on his pre-season preparations. As reported by, the Williams driver said:

“I feel like a different man, I feel like physically I am in the best shape I’ve ever been. And I believe in the condition I’m in now and will continue to get to will be simply just helping me feel more comfortable in the car and extract performance.”

James Vowles’ Thoughts

William’s Team Principal, James Vowles, has expressed his expectation for Sargeant as well. Vowles would like the American to “surprise the world” following the renewal of his contract.

The Team Principal said:

“First and foremost, I’ve asked him to surprise the world in terms of physical fitness, his approach and his performance.

“We’ve changed quite a bit with him across the winter period, his trainer is different, his training programmes are completely different. You should see he’s a much more confident person and he carries that well.

“What I’ve asked him to do is to approach the first few days of driving the car with caution again, the same way he did at the end of year, build up into it and don’t try and rush into success.”

Whilst there’s caution from Vowles in regards to Sargeant, the Team Principal appears more optimistic for the season ahead with Sargeant’s improvements.
