Brand new World Champion Max Verstappen has revealed a new helmet design for the upcoming Formula 1 season on Twitter.
The flying Dutchman’s 2022 lid will feature a number of new golden elements and, most importantly, the number 1 that he will be using this year, as it returns to the sport for the first time since 2014.
“I do think the gold makes it a little bit cooler”, says Verstappen as he sees the helmet for the first time himself.

There is also a new star on the back in honour of his 2021 World Drivers’ Championship.
How many stars future helmets will feature remains to be seen, as does whether Lewis Hamilton’s will ever feature an eighth star.
The seven-time world champion remains on a social media blackout as rumours continue to swirl about whether he will return to F1 after the controversy of the Abu Dhabi season finale.
