Maserati and ROKiT Venturi Racing announce multi-year partnership as of Season 9 joining Gen3.

Returning to the motorsport scene after after a 60 year hiatus from single seater motorsport Maserati join forces with ROKiT Venturi. This move see Maserati become the first Italian team to compete in Formula E.

The partnership comes after last week Formula E announced that seven manufacturers had confirmed their commitment to the Gen3 car and therefore Season 9. Maserati being the newest manufacturer to join.

Due to the new partnership, the Monegasque team will move away from their previous partnership with Mercedes EQ. Venturi partnered with the team in 2019. After a short time of producing their own power units. The new deal will see Maserati supply the team with Gen3 power units as of 2023.

CEO Susie Wolff commenting that “Uniting with Maserati marks the start of a new chapter”

Wolff goes onto say that Maserati choosing to partner with ROKiT Venturi “underlines our success in recent seasons”

Chairman Scott Swid went on to say that “Partnering with Maserati for Gen3 is brilliant news. It’s excellent for the team, for Maserati and Formula E, but above all else, it’s fantastic news for the fans who will witness the return of an iconic marque to top-tier motorsport.”

Moving into Round 4 and 5 in Rome ROKiT Venturi are leading both the Driver and Team Championship. This comes after an incredible Round 2 win from Edoardo Mortara in Diriyah.

Maserati CEO Davide Grasso commented that “Formula E was a natural choice”

The decsion in partnering with ROKiT Venturi comes as they share “the same determination and desire to compete and win on circuits all over the world”

What does this mean for ROKiT Venturi?

Moving into Season 9 the ROKiT Venturi name will be replaced by Maserati. Transitioning over to Maserati Formula E team for the start of Gen3.

Maserati will be the first Italian team to enter into Formula E. Despite this, it has become clear that the team will run out of ROKiT’s current Monaco base. After Wolff commented that the team “wanted to stay in Monaco”

Entering as a manufacturer means Maserati will provide power units to the team. It is said to share common elements with fellow Formula E team Techeetah, DS power unit. However, the software is due to be the differentiator.
